How Do You Talk?

Today my nephew asked me how I talk. So I gave him my best British accent. Which would probably make British people laugh. It made my nephew laugh, too.

“What is that?”

“It’s a British accent.”

“Oh. What is an American accent?”

“That is how we always talk.”

“Oh.”

“So, how do you talk?” I asked him. To which he responded:

Jul 11 1

“Hellooo. Goood Mooorning. I’m speaking Spanish!”

My other nephew got in on the fun, too.

How do you talk?”

Jul 11 2

Like a dragon!”

Rar.

Sparkly, Shiny Soul

Jacinta joined the ranks of the baptized yesterday on Saturday. I am a little behind on my blogging. I’ll let the pictures tell the story.

Baptism 1

She looked pretty cute in her little white outfit.

Baptism 2

I’m not sure what they were looking at, but it must have been…inspiring.

Baptism 3

Lined up and ready to go.

Baptism 4

Already glowing, and not even baptized yet!

Baptism 5

The sign of the Cross.

Baptism 6

Veronica wanted to do it, too. She didn’t get the whole thumb thing though.

Baptism 8

Donovan also got a turn.

Baptism 9

Listening to the “homily”. I wonder if this is before or after the “Lady Pope” joke. If our faces are a guide…I’d say after.

Baptism 10

She didn’t care for the oil.

Baptism 11

She didn’t care for the water, either.

Baptism 12

Ahhh, that’s better. “My soul is shiny and new! Oh, and I am hungry!”

Baptism 14

More oil. Not like her hair needs it.

Baptism 15

Veronica needed some help sitting still. And staying out of the fountain.

Baptism 17

Reach!

Baptism 18

Way to keep the flame alive candle lit, Steve!

Baptism 19

Michael and Donovan keeping Clint company. Good thing they were there to make sure he didn’t misbehave.

Baptism 20

Cleaning one’s soul of original sin is very exhausting.

Baptism 21

Final blessing.

Baptism 22

Her soul is so shiny, it shows right through!

Baptism 23

He looks excited. Maybe Jacinta’s sparkly soul was infectious. Or maybe he was just glad it was over.

Baptism 24

I was crying, but I am taking a break now.”

Baptism 25

Daddy and Mommy love their brownie bit.

Baptism 26

Cutie pie!

Baptism 27

Her white garment is about to fly away with her.

Baptism 28

Uncle Steve and Aunt Becky, the Godparents.

Baptism 29

Her namesake.

Baptism 30

Awww Dad, why are you doing this to me?”

Baptism 31

Veronica is not sure what to make of this.

Baptism 32

I guess she isn’t used to not being the center of attention.

Baptism 33

A family picture with Omi, Opa, Papae and Mamae.

Baptism 34

Felicity was excited about the whole thing.

Baptism 35

She looks asleep, but she was really trying her darnedest to locate sustenance.

Baptism 37

The glow of shiny, new soul is irresistible.

Baptism 39

Thanks to Omi for making the beautiful cake!

Happy Grace Day, Jacinta Marie!
